Hi everyone so i rescued a hp workstation z220 core i7 3770 3 4 ghz from the e waste pile at work the only thing missing was the ram.
Hp z220 power supply upgrade. I have been trying to get an answer from hp as to whether or not i can upgrade the power supply on my own to a 450w but have not been able to get a straight answer. The power supply upgrade of the hp z220 to a stronger psu with 600 w finally worked. I have a gt970 i d like to use for a graphics card but found out it requires 2 6 power connectors and a minimum 500w supply. The gtx 1060 and greater require pcie power leads not available to the hp 690 series.
Does anyone know if the z200 s have a standard atx power supply or are they proprietary like i found with the 8000 elites. Gtx1050ti is a 75w card getting all its power from the pcie slot.
